Join Michael and Robin when they chat with Dr. W. Jason Dunne, a leader in nursing education and is currently serving as Vice President of Operations at Arizona College of Nursing.

According to the Arizona College of Nursing, with numerous campuses nationwide, we were faced with nurse burnout before the pandemic began. Now, taking Covid into consideration, it's even worse.

Once a female-dominated industry, males now account for more than 12% of U.S. nurses. Men thinking of becoming a nurse can count on career stability, competitive pay, a flexible schedule, and travel opportunities – no longer with the stigma attached. We will discuss why men are more frequently pursuing a career in nursing, discuss the most popular specialties, and offer tips and resources for those interested in the profession.

We will also discusss what’s happening in higher education and nursing, including an increasing nursing shortage, why should people consider a career in nursing despite the challenges (COVID, overflowing hospitals, etc.) and other topics.

Dr. W. Jason Dunne, a leader in nursing education and is currently serving as Vice
President of Operations at Arizona College of Nursing. Dunne has been a registered
nurse for more than 22 years and have had a diverse range of nursing practice,
education and leadership experience within health care and nursing education. His
previous roles have included, Nursing Administrator, Dean of Health Sciences, Dean of
Nursing, Associate Dean of Nursing, Campus President, and Senior Director of Campus
Operations.
