Special Guest: Sarah Hood, Head of Engagement & Inclusion, Bupa

Bupa is global and they run this activity globally, reaching out to 80,000 employees at a time, most of whom are working in care environments so ‘offline’.

With their current ‘Listen, learn and act’ model, and supported by their partners Glint, they are now mostly focused on driving action and change as they’ve got their insights into a place where they are easy to understand and they can move more quickly from understanding them to acting upon them.

When it comes to driving change and action, the organisation operates more like a conglomeration of businesses than one company, and so in Sarah’s role there is a huge and complex amount of stakeholder management and collaboration to influence change.

Sarah has been leading Bupa’s global employee listening activities since 2015, and more recently Bupa’s diversity & inclusion agenda. Bupa is a market leading health and care company employing around 80,000 people around the world.

Bupa has around 16.5m insurance customers, and provide healthcare for 10.6m people in clinics and hospitals as well as looking after more than 22,000 aged care residents.

Prior to HR, Sarah worked in customer service and operations management where she led large teams for over 10 years. Sarah lives in Fleet, Hampshire with her husband, son and cat (and is expecting her second child later in September).

Join us as we discuss Bupa’s history of employee listening as it has evolved over the years.
