Special Guest: Theo and Julie Fels: The Owners of Feisty Brown

Your internal audience is just as important as your external audience. Internal communications should go further than simple emails and memos with densely packed copy or flat blog posts and meeting reminders. Whether you need to get your team to understand complicated information quickly, you’re presenting strategy alignment to leaders, or, as a leader, you need to impart sensitive compliance issues, well thought-out visual communication can amplify your message. Every communication is an opportunity to inspire.

Julie and Theo Fels are the owner’s of Feisty Brown, a graphic design and communications studio. With more than 30 years of experience, Theo and Julie have worked with organizations like American Express, Capital One, Johnson & Johnson, the International Monetary Fund, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, and Samsung.

Julie is Feisty Brown’s content director and manages the business side of the studio. Before getting into project management for graphic design studios, she was the director of a public library where she learned the importance of building community through organizational narrative

Theo is Feisty Brown’s creative director was born in Los Angeles to a family caught up in the LA art scene of the 70s and 80s. Influenced by that era’s vibrant combination of fine arts and graphic design, Theo’s approach to design is inspired and conscious, superseding the mechanical. He now
