Marcia is a poet, musician, presenter, and interdisciplinary artist. Her most recent poetry collection is “A Crown of Hornets” (Four Way Books, 2019), which deals with her experience with and recovery from a mild traumatic brain injury. Based on that collection, she has created a presentation entitled “An Artist’s Journey Through Mild Traumatic Brain Injury, which presents her story along with original poems, music, artwork, and videos to immerse the viewer in one woman’s experience with an MTBI. Marcia has shared her presentation at Walter Reed's National Intrepid Center for Excellence, as well as at Psychiatry Grand Rounds at Montefiore Medical Center in NYC, and at the "Clinician's Ear" series at the Center for Biomedical Ethics and Humanities at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Marcia holds an MFA from Warren Wilson College Program for Writers, and has taught classes and workshops on creativity and writing at colleges, arts organizations, and other venues. She was a co-founding member of award-winning NYC a cappella group The Accidentals. and is currently a soloist and choir member of First Lutheran Church in NJ.
