Today a classic lecture by Dr. Noam Chomsky, 1997 Boston University, on "free markets." Listener Warning: Consider the historical context he describes since then and the large rise in popularity of conservative "libertarian" elites using "free market" rhetoric in media and political campaigns, Chomsky's remarks may be pretty painful listening for the traditional "supply-side" conservative. The lecture runs 1 hour and 20 minutes with Q&A. Apologies, questioners with rambling statements have been muffled. Callers and comments welcome in the closing minutes of this episode for discussion.
