Dale Lehman of WZRD public radio provided this important talk.
Dr. Parenti provides a critique of capitalism as the driving logic of empire, which globalizes exploitation and inequality. While contemporary economics typically defends the benefits of free-market capitalism, Parenti argues that global capitalism is run by and for transnational corporations. Anything good that exists with in the Capitalist State is the result of grassroots organizing and democratic struggle against the owners of Capital and the State which acts as their protector. He is introduced by Dr. Richard Gilman-Opalsky who moderates the Q&A following the talk.
