The Struggle Against Lyme Disease With Dominique Cooper & Travis Mickens

Dear Afrikans,

George Jackson University would like to welcome this week on our broadcast, Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 8/est Sister Dominique Cooper.  She is a 52 years young beautiful lady from Richmond, VA, married, mother, and grandmother who was diagnosed with Lyme Disease in August, 2009. She is a Lyme Disease Advocate along with her supporting team (Dawn Wilson and Brother Travis Mickens).  Travis Mickens, age 37 is also a Lyme warrior, diagnosed with lyme in August of 2009. He said he first started noticing symptoms in July of 2009. The picture of him on the top left corner was taken at George Washington Hospital while waiting to get his port inserted for his IV treatment. Top right corner was after the port was inserted and he was preparing for his first round of IV abx. The glasses were not a fashion statement. Travis was at risk for blindness and suffered from extreme light sensitivity. The bottom two are seven years later and after a lot of blood,sweat and tears (literally).  Travis says, "I'm regaining the quality of life we all want."  They together are representing the struggle against Lyme Disease within the African Community and globally.  We will discuss these important issues and struggles that are affecting our communities.
