Shaka At-Thinnin is a prisoner advocate and abolitionist, who has been organizing and educating about the hells of the Prison Industrial Complex for well over 3 decades. Brother Shaka is the Chairman of the Black August Organizing Committee (BAOC), which is headquartered in Oakland, California. Comrade Shaka has been involved in prisoner rights issues for over three decades. He personally understands the systematic slavery known as Prison as well as the Prison Industrial Slave Complex. Shaka along with Kumasi made a critique on the movie Black August which is about the story of George Lester Jackson, whom is a freedom fighter for the people's liberation. Shaka At-Thinnin is a educator and has built a relationship with the FTP Movement. On Feb. the 15th,2009 BAOC and The FTP Movement formed an official union as agreed upon by Shaka At Thinnin, Chairman of BAOC and Kalonji Jama Changa,Founder /National Coordinator of The FTP Movement. This union has brought a lot of Black August events to the Atlanta area where Brother Kalonji of FTP reside. Comrade Shaka continues to be steadfast by never surrending to the oppressor as he always tries to fight for the release of all comrades behinds enemy lines.
