FREEMASONRY: ADJUSTED TO HISTORICAL SPECIFICITY

Adjustment is key to the application of our practices.  In a way, it is a sensible contrast to the authority that normally imposes 'democratic' states isn't it?  Freemasonry is, in that way, influential as it is an unenforceable ethical mindset. The key to Masonic values is a compassionate embrace given unevenly, accepted unevenly but based on trust.  Where dedication is strong, freemasonry lives in the heart of man.  And it requires little more and yet much more to pass from one generation to the next. Such as being adjusted to the historical specificity of each nation, each province, each district, each lodge in practice and theoretical formulations. This is a type of foundation for achievement of authentic sustaining expansion of  respect for character development.  Though ability varies person to person, knowledge is valued. When scholars pass along knowledge to less capable brethren we suceed answering the age old question: does one need to be a genius to understand genius? Service in all it's many shared aspects is a composite of unique chemistry, unique in time/space. Yet in our minds, we see the patterns.  The beauty of this is how sensitive this is to manipulation- as happens when men have tried to commodify compassion.  Pathetic puppy pictures must work? Right?   So we apply reason and have been  passing along the dignity and mystery of Freemasonry to endless generations.
