How can a man be other than his limited experiences without imagination? Suggesting that by being exposed to a process without understanding that one is capable of change is a bit skewed? To think that insight can be commodified relies too much on wishful thinking. No one would suggest wishful thinking is unhealthy but neither would any reasonable mason believe accomplishing a meaningful life only requires wishing.  Proportion and place. These are the necessary context.  Petulance like criticism and complaining, heightens inconvenience as if the world deserves another dose of thoughtlessness.  Perhaps instead of looking at a tracing board, we should be looking into a mirror, asking ourselves the  important question in life. Don't have a question?  Is it time you did?  Only one man knows that answer.   We are so close to experiencing the fullness of Freemasonry; the promised experience that changes a man.  Not compromise. Not half measures. Not good enough. All in. If your ideal mentor is one who can communicate with you; who can encourage without praising, who can realistically identify your strengths and with you, acknowledge weaknesses as areas requiring training- then you have found a brother. The others are illusions.  You'll know the difference when you meet him. Until then, absorb what is around that inspires and helps you focus. Ideas.  Then notice the calmness within. And notice the difference between what you aspire to be and your true self.  Don't tell a soul. That is your secret and your path.  Begin the experience of connecting existence to those intimate truths. If you seek the best in mankind, you will find it. If you stretch-  "A mans reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for"- you grow.
