There is a time and place.  And whenever messaging oversteps we begin to notice things otherwise unacknowledged.  Without fanfare.  It is interesting that in a world overrun with cynicism and the assertion of power, there are people who show the benefits of a virtuous life.  Only when we focus on the facts of power do we begin to understand the  advantage of truth over taste. But that is not enough.  Even the ancient Greeks struggled with the fickle nature of democracy, but they were convinced it was the superior form of government. This left room for rhetoric and dialectic, so much so that masonry built it into it's philosophy. Not as an imposition but placed to be discovered. It is unreasonable I think, to ask how masonry advances moral structure if it is not being discussed.  At least it requires awareness of a sort to even begin discussion. If a man does not value the premise he is unlikely to participate. The way we converge requires two things. First an ability to be influenced by truth. Second, to accept it and move on.  Who do we know? That is the role of logic and reason. To be sure, weak conviction wants to replace them with popularity to generate celebrity and opinion. It unburdens us from exploring  integrity.  It is the soul that makes us immortal, so does a man make up his own morality or does it exist objectively? Merit does exist and we learn where it exists. Not in politics or emotional judgement. Achievement visible to the attentive eye- how steep a mountain did that man climb to achieve what you take as modest and even common, but for him is defining?  To take this in we sip at knowledge as a state of mind. If or how we apply knowledge is what we overcome sowe can attend and apply the learnings in life. And as we get there, we learn grace and the appearance of effortlessness.  To find contentment is doing things for others. Apply the scientific method and discover.
