About Pecan Chi:
Pecan Chi is a novel that navigates its audience deep into the culture of Louisiana from the inception of a family on its pecan grove and plantation. The reader is lured out onto the limb of one branch of this family's tree, while following Lillian Blache and her offspring. After losing her parents at the tender age of sixteen, Lillian is enticed, by her dream of becoming a dancer, to make the irrevocable decision to pass as a white woman. Despite advice and guidance from her cousin, Bobby, the intensity of the civil rights era compels Lillian to make another devastating and unthinkable choice.
Follow this family from the 1760s to modern day and discover how one gift of pecans vindicates Lillian to know that her actions may not have been in vain.
