He is the author of The Condemnation of Blackness: Race, Crime, and the Making of Modern Urban America, published this year by Harvard University Press. Condemnation was selected by the San Francisco Chronicle as a top ten title for Black History Month, and recommended in the April issue of Ebony Magazine.
