Child Abuse Prevention Month

Special Guest: Lauren Morley, MSW, LSW,

As Manager of Training and Prevention for American Humane Association’s Child Welfare program, Ms. Morley manages work in the area of child maltreatment prevention. Her responsibilities include oversight of the Front Porch Project^®, a primary prevention initiative that equips community members with the knowledge, tools and action steps to intervene appropriately, when necessary, to help protect children and assist a parent or family. She also serves as lead curricula developer, trainer and coach for several Child Welfare initiatives, including family engagement through differential response models to child protective services, supervision of staff in differential response systems, engagement of non-resident fathers in the child welfare system, and the prevention of child maltreatment. In addition, Ms. Morley has served as a case reviewer and program analyst for several public child welfare organizational-assessment projects, including those conducted by American Humane Association in South Carolina, Colorado and New York.
