He lived in South Korea for five years teaching English, and currently works as the Education Director for the Ratna Peace Initative, teaching meditation to prisoners. Gary Allen is the Author of Love Strolls Among Its Own Fires. A book full of romantic,erotic,and political poems with a touch of luminous fragments and lyric flourishes of Haiku, it catches slippery flashes of diurnal perception and phenomenal world detail with concision and subtle feeling. Mr. Allen creates a journal- like fabric of mind moment observation and ricochet commentary, trekking the map from high altitude Tibetan passes to low Texan prison towns. Charting the arc of a romance, he explores its quiet longing, daily intimacies, molten bliss and ragged sorrow.
