Biography

Author Biography
Noel F. Mehlo, Jr

Mr. Mehlo is a born again Christian with a depth of life experiences. He is a professional soil scientist, transportation planner, environmental professional and a World War II historian. He served in the Army as a Military Intelligence professional. He served for 25 years in the Royal Rangers ministry and 10 years in Scouting as a leader of boys and men. He battles with multiple sclerosis in an uncompromising way without surrender. All of his experiences combined enabled him to develop a unique ability to research and tell stories in a deep and compelling way.

His published work includes The Lost Ranger: A Soldier’s Story. It is about his grandfather’s, Staff Sergeant Herbert Hull, service in WWII that was lost to his family and to the historical record of his unit, the 5th Ranger Infantry Battalion. Mr. Mehlo researched and developed a compelling story about restoring his rightful place in history, as well as a complete look at this special warfare community and their role on D-Day and in northern France.

His second book, God Is So Cool! Through Faith Comes Endurance, is a total departure from his first in that it plunges the reader headlong into the stressful and emotional journey of a family faced with the challenge of a lifetime, when his beautiful wife of 20 years experiences a massive brain aneurysm and hemorrhagic stroke brought on by an arterial venous malformation (AVM), where through faith came healing and victory.

He continues to write and is currently working on a sequel to The Lost Ranger to complete the WWII historical narrative of the men in the 5th Rangers to honor their service, as well as a biography of General Norman Cota, a hero of D-Day from the 29th Infantry Division.
