TS Radio: Mike Cutler on Immigration & Lack of Enforcement

Mike Cutler joins us for some real talk on the immigration situation.

BIO for Mike Cutler:

My career with the former INS spanned some 30 years. I began my career as an Immigration Inspector, assigned to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and then,

I was assigned as an Adjudications Officer for one year, conducting interviews to determine the bona fides of marriages in conjunction with petitions filed by U.S. citizens and lawful immigrants on behalf of their alien spouses to accord them lawful immigrant status.

in 1975 I became a Special Agent (Criminal Investigator). During my career I was assigned to every squad within the Investigations Branch of the New York District Office. From 1988 until 1991 I was assigned to the Unified Intelligence Division of the DEA in New York City. In 1991 I was promoted to the position of Senior Special Agent and assigned to the Organized Crime, Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF).

I have testified before approximately 15 Congressional hearings on issues involving immigration, especially its nexus to national security and criminal justice. I provided testimony to the 9/11 Commission and have worked as an expert witness at trials in which immigration was at issue.

I was assigned to the Organized Crime, Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) where I worked cooperatively with members of other law enforcement agencies including the FBI, DEA, ATF and members of state and local police departments and representatives of law enforcement agencies of other countries including Israel, Canada, Great Britain and Japan.
