Hosted by Carole Walker, Dir of Field Documentaion for Wild Horse Freedom Federation
Guest will be: Susan W. Watt, Executive Director of Black Hills Horse Sanctuary located in South Dakota
http://www.wildmustangs.com/
https://www.facebook.com/wildmustangs
Carol and Susan will discuss how the sanctuary was started in 1988, the importance of educating the public about wild horses, the challenges facing wild horses today, why we need private Sanctuaries, programs offered by the Sanctuary, the Adobe Appys, and how you can visit and support the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary. Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary home to 600 wild mustangs on 11,000 acres of private land in South Dakota. Your generous donations, sponsorships, and purchases from our gift shop will keep the mustangs living a quality life of freedom.
Now Imagine an Oregon rancher, naturalist, and the author, with the heart, the will and the sense of duty, the desire to save these animals, and you have Dayton O. Hyde. In 1988, Dayton Hyde raised, by the skin of his teeth, enough money for a down payment on a sanctuary near Hot Springs, South Dakota, and convinced the Bureau of Land Management to send him its unadoptable wild horses.
The Sanctuary has given the wild horses that make their home there over 10,000 years of horse freedom. Thank you!
