Whistleblowers! is presented in coordination with Marcel Reid and the Whistleblower's Summit July 27-29 in Washington D.C.
Join us this evening as we host Tammy and Mickey Mitchell.
Tammy Mitchell was an employee at the Beckley VA Medical Center. As she was required to do, she reported wrongdoing by a superior employee at the same facility. As a Title 38 employee under the Whistleblower Protection Act of 1989, she should have been protected as a Whistleblower. Her reports began in 2012 and the retaliation from the VA and its offices also began at the same time.
"My lawyer informed me recently that the EEO I filed when I came off work in 2012 was lost. He had been in contact with a judge and it seems there is not even a paper trail. I have multiple emails regarding my EEO from 2012 until just recently. I pick up the phone this week and was informed that it was closed July 2013. I filed for a hearing in July and the judge ordered one to be set up by the EEO officer at the Beckley VA Medical Center. That was done almost 3 years later March 12, 2015 with the director Karin Mcgraw. Yet I'm being told the paper trail is lost and it was closed July 2013."
Please tune in and hear yet another report of the protection by the VA of those who abuse the system and the Veterans and who are allowed to continue working while those trying to expose abuse, fraud and waste in the system are systematically terminated and penalized for standing up and speaking out.
