The FBI swiftly apprehended disgraced former Mayor, James Jackson (aka “JJ”) March 26th. Wetumka citizens from the small southeastern Oklahoma city worked hard to remove Jackson after his short stint. He was arrested for aggravated sexual abuse of a minor.

Jackson and his family had only recently moved to Wetumka and ultimately became Mayor after he battled citing his rights were violated, and created enough of an upset to remove former long- time Mayor McGee. Enough felt it was just time for a change and nothing to do with anything other than that. But others felt something was just not right about JJ and didn’t approve of his temperament, tactics and behavior. One mother cited that JJ made comments about her daughter who was playing in a basketball game, Her Mom was within earshot when he talked about the 12 year olds body in an inappropriate manner

Many were concerned with the Jackson family, and the suspicions about the well being of the Jackson’s adopted daughters became an issue. Autumn’s (adopted daughter) well being was questioned along with placing her in positions she was not qualified citing blatant nepotism as Jackson’s wife was on council prompting many votes on behalf of her husband- like clockwork. Don Jett who was recently removed by council, seemed to be more of a pseudo City Manager just with a title as he did not “act” as his role required. The Mayor was dictating without legal authority to do so -as a Weak Mayor position on steroids, took its toll.

Guests: Richard Roush and Brian Linley Sr.

Wetumkan Richard Roush, retired Veteran and now running for Council have worked hard with others behind the scenes to assure the health and well being of his fellow friends and neighbors. Brian Linely Sr. retired Veteran and ex Mayor who served 16 years in Del City provided essential wisdom to those working to make their city whole again.
