They do so in specific areas, such as lung and chest stress. Grief is captured in the upper region, and many traumas are in the gut. Often passed down from years of abuse, neglect, family history, and more. Growing up in the church, I hear many say that this type of pain passed down from one generation to another is a "Generational Curse." As such, we have tried everything from asking God to heal us to denouncing it and saying to the devil no more. It stops here. While researching for my new book, JUST ONE BREATH, which I thought since 1987 was going to be a book called "Trying To Survive In A World Called Normal," I came across Dr. Mariel Bugue. Author of Break the Cycle. My interest is drawn to her because her book supports what I discovered while on my healing journey. Why the idea of trying to survive in a world called normal? Because the initial idea for the book was more focused on trying to live beyond what I had been through. For the first five decades, I saw myself as just a survivor. Additionally, I understand that for many, struggling to survive is their current reality. I should know. Nevertheless, as Gladys Knight sings in "The Way We Were," "Has time rewritten every line. And if we could do it all again, would we? Could we? Memories may be beautiful, but what's too painful to remember, we choose to forget. Oh, but it's the laughter we will remember whenever we remember how we were." JOIN THE CONVERSATION AS I TAKE YOU ON THIS JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY. Is it a generational curse or simply generational trauma that we must be healed from? Have A Cup Of Coffee With Me!
