Listen to this edition of the Pan-African Journal hosted by Abayomi Azikiwe, editor of the Pan-African News Wire. In this episode we will feature our regular PANW reports with dispatches on the attacks in Burkina Faso on a hotel which killed 23 people and injured many others; the situation in South Africa is becoming more tense with the declining value of the rand and rising unemployment; 63 Kenyan troops were reportedly killed in Somalia by Al-Shabaab operatives in an attack on a African Union military base in the south of the Horn of Africa state; and there has been another case of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Sierra Leone months after the West African country had been declared free of the dread infectious illness. In the second hour we are continuing our monthlong tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on the 87th anniversary of his birth. We are looking a Dr. King's uncompromising position after 1967 in opposition to the United States invasion and occupation of Vietnam. We will also hear a rare archival speech presented by Dr. King at the National Conference for a New Politics held in Chicago over Labor Day weekend in September 1967.
