Listen to the Pan-African Journal: Special Worldwide Radio Broadcast hosted by Abayomi Azikiwe, editor of the Pan-African News Wire. The program features our regular PANW reports with dispatches on the policies enacted by the Zimbabwe government to adddress the liquidity crisis in the Southern African state by introducing a basket of currencies into the economy; the ousted Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi has been sentenced to life plus fifteen years in prison some three years after he was overthrown in a military coup in July 2013; divisions continue to plaugue the post-Gaddafi era in the North African state of Libya where the United Nations imposed Government of National Accord (GNA) remains a fragile entity and the hope of United States imperialism; and the Pentagon is maintaining its war against the people of Somalia through airstrikes and support for the surrogate federal regime. In the second hour we continue our monthlong commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Black Power Movement through a classic speech by Stokely Carmichael delivered at the University of California at Berkely in Oct. 1966. Finally we are extending our recognition of the 40th anniversary of the national student uprising in South Africa which began on June 16, 1976.
