Let's Talk About It with Jenny White/Policing in America

We have Mr. Reggie Barnes, who was my guest last Friday, and by popular demand agreed to come back  and  continue to share some of his experiences with us. He will also tell us how to behave when we are stopped by law enforcement.  He will inform us of what's going on in the Detroit Police dept., where the news reported that a team was created to gather information about what was going on in the department and was told that racism did indeed exist. The team was then disbanded.  What would you do if someone joined the force after you and ended up being promoted before you?  Some of the officers are afraid to speak out for fear of being reprimanded in some way.  The team supposedly will return maybe with different people and with a different focus. Why was the original team stopped?  Sometimes the truth hurts and you just want it to go away. If police morale is low, and they go out into the streets, it might not be a good day for us citizens if we have an encounter with them. 

We need law enforcement officers to stand up to their mandate to protect and serve the people because without them we would have chaos.  We support our police(men) and women!!
