Depression has symptoms of the mind and the of body. One of the symptoms of depression is the loss of your appetite or it may increase. Another symptom is the loss of sleep. At least 80% of depressed individuals complain of insomnia and 15% of depressed individuals sleep excessively.
Most patients complain of body fatigue and in many, energy loss is so overwhelming that physical movement is difficult and grinds to a paralyzing halt.
There's also evidence that depression involves various body systems and there seems to be a complex relationship between depression and the heart. Depression raises the risk of heart disease and maginifies existing cardiac problems. It seems it alters blood platelets and circulates elements that are responsible for clotting.
