Rumors about R. Kelly have persisted for decades. Was it because his victims were African Americans? Most say that was the only reason he could go for so long doing the things he has been alleged to have done.
In documentary, Surviving R. Kelly, women were telling their stories and no one in authority was listening. Recently he's been arrested and charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and some are calling for his music to be removed from being played on the radio and in other places.
According to the Chicago police he has alleged sexual assaults dating back to 1998 where three of the victims were between the ages of 13 and 17, and he called himself the "Pied Piper" of R & B evoking the fableld character who lured children away from their homes. This documentary also shed light on the lack of attention to young girls and women of color who have been sexually abused.
