The DAD (Disease Against Diabetes) Program recieved a grant from the Lion's Club International to instruct participants on diabetes, how to handle if you have it, and if you don't have it, how you can keep yourself from getting it.
There will be 3 one hour classes and each one will last for 8 weeks. The classes are free and up to 20 people are allowed in each class. The instructor will teach on the understanding of how to live w/o diabetes and how to maintain healthy eating habits.
Some things to do would be to: 1) Talk to your doctor about an exercise plan and what kinds of exercise is appropriate for you; 2) keep an exercise schedule; 3) know your numbers; 4) check your blood sugar level; 5) stay hydrated; 6) Adjust your diabetes treatment plan as needed.
