Let's Talk with Jenny White/Delta variant is as contagious as the chicken pox!

A mutant strain of the coronavirus that some researchers believe is more infectious, is rampaging across the globe. Dozens of San Francisco health care workers have been infected with the coronavirus over the past six weeks, a reflection of what's happening across the community since the state reopened and the delta variant surged. The Delta variant continues to tear across the United States causing hospital rates to soar and leading the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to recommend that even people who are fully vaccinated resume wearing masks in indoor publlc spaces in most parts of the country.

Luckily for us, the Delta variant is far less likely to cause serious disease or death in people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. However, the variant does have a formidable super power: It replicates far more rapidly and efficiently in the human body than any previous known variant.
