What's wrong with being single? Absolutely nothing!
There's societal pressure to be WITH someone. For some people, anyone. As long as we're not alone. In church, it's generally taught that being a couple is better than being alone. After all, in Genesis, the Lord says, "It's not good for man to be alone."
Isn't this an edict? Get into a relationship, dear brother or sister... pronto!
But what if... you're happy being single? The desire for a relationship outside familial or platonic friendships has no appeal to you. Not because of trauma, bad relationships, religious and/or philosophical dogma like nuns or monks, or anything like that. Not because you're a loner clinging to isolation. It's just that you're simply happy and blessed to be single.
How do you navigate societal pressure to get into a relationship when you know being single is the way that God made you? What can churches do to engage and minister to these who want to serve Him in this capacity?
