Cloud Computing enables organizations to consolidate and share computing resources, eliminates on-site physical hardware, replaces on-site equipment with virtual, non-dedicated machines, unlocks information behind firewalls to enable improved transparency and engagement with end-users. Cloud computing is dramatically accelerating the shift from IT-based products to business-oriented services, however, not all applications and services are well suited to cloud solutions and the cloud does not always provide immediate ROI or lower expenses.
