Antonique Smith, known affectionately to the masses as “the actress that played Faith Evans”, in the box office hit Notorious, is about to shock the world with the release of her first official single ‘Hold Up Wait A Minute (Woo Woo)’.

‘Hold Up Wait A Minute’ is a edgy, uptempo. future meets retro, soul pleaser. “’Hold Up Wait A Minute’ is a liberation song”, explains Smith. “It’s time to take the power back for all the injustices in our lives and I made this record to do just that! Hold Up, Wait A Minute!”

The powerhouse singer, whose chops were built in church and perfected on the Broadway stage as Mimi in the Tony Award winning musical RENT, is on full display in ‘Hold Up Wait A Minute’. The song was produced by Darryl “Darulah” Farmer and Elijah Kelley and written by Farmer and Smith.

On the heels of a successful Kickstarter campaign where Smith became the first African American artist to raise over $50,000 in 30 days from her fans, Smith is continuing her “power to the people”, grassroots approach while kicking down the door with her infectious new song.
