Imam Darnell Karim and Imam W. Deen Mohammed attended University of Islam’s grade school and high school together. They both served in the Junior Fruit of Islam (FOI) and maturated to join the men in the adult FOI. They played together as young children and as teenagers even into adulthood each fulfilling the respective roles they had been groomed for by the Nation of Islam.

Our main topic will be “WHO TAUGHT IMAM W. DEEN MOHAMMED?”, but specifically we’ll focus on who taught Imam W. Deen Mohammed Al-Islam. This question is quite appropriate because of the unique – yet eye-opening – Qur’anic based message of Al-Islam that Imam W.D. Mohammed shared with humanity that was consistent with the model of our noble Prophet Muhammed, the prayers and peace be upon him.
Imam W.D. Mohammed was born into a family who historically was physically, educationally, and politically humble; nonetheless, as explained in scripture, “Allah makes His man (or woman) from nothing.”

WORDS MAKE PEOPLE believe it is of the utmost importance that we have a public conversation on “WHO TAUGHT IMAM W. DEEN MOHAMMED?” with someone who not only knew Imam Mohammed in childhood but from one who also followed him as his student. Imam Darnell (and his wife Sister Gloria) is very much qualified to lead us in this discussion.
