What is/was the intention of establishing Savior Day in the cultural/spiritual lives of African Americans? We'll discuss how the name has evolved from "Saviour's Day" to "Saviors' Day" (an apostrophe shift) onto "Savior Day". We'll also discuss Imam Mohammed's "Ethnic Survival Day" in 1978.

Beginning with Africa to the Americas slave trade the African American “Journey to Our Destiny” has no sojourn or disconnects. WORDS MAKE PEOPLE promotes that the role of Mr. Fard and his “Saviour’s Day” was one important step or one phase in the establishment of a new people on the world scene – who are transitioned through various racial and ethnic names such as Colored, Negro, Black, Afro and African-American.

The messages of Savior Day are very important in our lives; however, many younger African American Muslims born post-1975 seem to have a disconnect” with this day and the purpose of Savior Day. We hope the youth will call in to this show with any questions or concerns.

Qur’an 66:6 says, “Save yourselves and your families from a fire whose fuel is men and stones.” The Qur’an too is our savior as it has been the savior for many communities, individuals and nations.
