Ever since my pediatrician put me on my first diet at age 8, I have been told to count calories and do more exercise.  That advice made me feel like I was starving all the time.  So I cut sugar and cardio, and started lifting weights and doing intervals instead.  Check out this podcast, and see if low carb and less cardio can work for you.
