When Someone Thinks That They Own You.

What do we mean when we say that someone belongs to us, or that we belong to someone else. The declaration of ownership can imply that permission was granted, or that a contract was signed and a product has been paid for. More than likely, at sometime in your life, someone has declared ownership of you. You may have agreed to it and you may not have. Is it ever okay to claim someone as belonging to you? A lover? A spouse? A friend? An employee? How long does ownership of a person last and how far can it go? There was a time in recent history where a wife had a really hard time reporting abuse crimes to authorities because she was married to a man. Is that the extent that owning a person can go to?
