What Exactly is a Gold Digger?

I think that we all know what a gold digger is and what a gold digger does, but do we ever take time out to think about what a gold digger feels? We look at gold diggers as people, usually women who will only date and marry someone who has a lot of money and who will spend the money on them. In that way, you would describe a lot of people who have high standards for the people who the date. When we talk about the other characteristics that people have for the people that they date, or become involved with, like height, weight, complexion, sexiness, personality, education, etc., none come under more scrutiny than the money requirement in dating. Why is that? Why does only dating someone who has money seem to draw so much attention? We kinda know, but do we really know? If a woman wants to date a man for his money and the man uses his money to get women, what do we care? And is that all there is to it?  Does dating someone for money reveal a more sinister flaw in a person's character? Are gold diggers incapable of love? Are they unworthy of love? Are they always pretty and worth the money? Let's talk.
