Keith D. Yates is a true Professor and historian of martial arts and has dedicated his life to the development of a student love of learning Tae Kwon Do. Starting at an early age of fourteen years old in Richardson, Texas at recreation center under the direction of the great Allen Steen and in 1968 at the age of seventeen he became a Black Belt.

His most prolific win was the Texas State Championships with a first in Kata and a trophy in Sparring and also he enjoyed his win at the All American. He is an active seminar activist doing seminars around the country. However, his gift is the art of writing and he does it well. With fifteen books under his pen, all are educational and informative. One of our favorite books he has written is the tale of a Young Samurai, a tale of a young mouse who shares his journey through the martial arts and adventures with a kids vision in essence.

An executive High Dan member of the AKBBA and witnesses the Black Belt Exams He is part of Allen Steen's original group of Black Belts and he helps oversee the work that they do in the martial art community he has been involved forty years of this rich history. He is an original History General for the Sport Karate Museum and help design the original Sport Karate Museum Logo.
