You can not teach heart , it a seed that grows if nourish by knowledge, understanding and passion ,always stay humble and give thanks when ever you can 

Whether it is a kata, a kickboxing match or an MMA bout, it must be done with heart, soul and spirit besides the physical contact  

Otherwise, grave injury can result, always control the physical defense or attack , however mentally, you feel the opponent once you make the commitment to do Karate Do the opponent does not get up.
