This show springboards from last week's discussion of Mental Illness in the African American community. "The Experience" examines the root of this disorder, looking at the ineffectiveness of tradional Eurocentric ideas applied in the Black Community, the limits of "minority consciousness," as well as comparing the values and structures of past, present, and future generations. Bill Green, co-founder of the African American Communiversal Project and an innovator in dealing with substance abuse and mental illness in the Black Community, for over 30 years, joins "The Experience."

"Our society tends to regard sickness as any mode of thought or behavior that is inconvenient for the system and this is plausible because when an individual doesn't fit into the system it causes pain to the individual as well as problems for the system. Thus the manipulation of an individual to adjust him to the system is seen as a cure for a sickness and therefore is good"  -Theodore Kacynski
