Vontae Davis retired at halftime of Sunday’s Bills-Chargers game, saying, he realized “Football is not for me” anymore in the second quarter and that he had become an outsider in the game he’d long loved. Over the years, he’d done what almost all football players do: he played through injuries, he did what was best for the team. He released a statement a couple of hours after the game, saying it wasn’t “how I pictured retiring from the NFL” but that while he was on the field it “hit me hard and fast: I shouldn’t be out there anymore.”
Now that the Dallas Mavs ugly investigation is over, Mark Cuban has donated 10 million $$ to various #METOO organizations avoiding a smaller fineby the NBA Commish Silver of 2.5 Million$$ and/or suspension. Changed management after a 20 year culture of sexual misconduct in his work place. Is it ENOUGH?
Day 500. Colin Kaepernick has been effectively banned from the NFL because of his peaceful protests against police brutality and systemic racism in the United States. While he became a legend and a cult hero for millions of people, taking a knee during the national anthem appears to have completely cost him his career. He has not so much as received a single tryout from even one team, in spite of being considered by experts to be around the 15th best quarterback in the NFL.
