Robert Stupack, an art aficionado who decided to invest in a Norman Rockwell painting in 1999, one of Rockwell’s studio in West Arlington, Vermont, painted after his studio burned in 1943, it was a combination of curiosity, determination, tenacity and his professional background as a senior audit and tax professional, accustomed to paying conscientious attention to detail and verifying facts, that led to the answers that enabled him to successfully make a patent application for authenticating all Norman Rockwell paintings since 1942. It is the first and only patent ever issued by the USPTO that quickly authenticates artwork using a personal computer. It identifies a technologically advanced anti-forgery technique created by Mr. Rockwell based upon Steganography, Posterization, and the subtle differences between the standardized color models RBG, CMYK, and HSV.
Sharon Schlesinger was diagnosed with both breast and cervical cancer over 28 years ago, in the dark ages, before the internet, social media, and the entry of Susan G. Komen on the national stage. Her cancer was caught at an early stage, and she was lucky enough not to experience a recurrence or a more advanced stage, even though the fear remained long after everyone else decided she was cancer-free. That’s the funny thing about any kind of cancer. You are never ‘free’ again. Currently, she focuses on creating support and awareness for the issues associated with metastatic breast cancer. Her best friends are all metastatic now, her mission: to empower them with the knowledge they need to live a full, creative and rewarding life as cancer ‘free’ as she has gratefully lived. She’s married to a wonderful man, mother of three outstanding children, and grandmother to six.
