A) Manhattan D.A., Alvin Bragg sues to block Rep. Jim Jordan from using his position as chair of the House Judiciary Committee to undermine and interfere in Bragg’s prosecution of the 45th on 34 counts of falsifying business records. Jordan’s efforts are intended to interfere in the ongoing criminal prosecution, and he’s planning more subpoenas and more efforts to harass, intimidate, and distract Bragg and the rest of his office— DA Bragg ain't having it. Jordan is way over his head. Congress has no power to supervise state criminal prosecutions. Nor does Congress have the power to serve subpoenas “for the personal aggrandizement of the investigators or to punish those investigated.”
B) The spotlight is on TN's racism Justin Jones and Justin Pearson are known for being fiery orators on the Tennessee House floor. They don’t mince words and have never had an issue calling out their GOP colleagues for passing hateful legislation or, in the case of gun violence, refusing to do anything at all. After all, Tennessee has one of the highest rates of gun deaths in the country, yet loves to enact laws that make gun violence easier. Daily Kos
