Show #45 2/1/2022My Guest Tonight Is Jeanelle Maraid, (She is using her pseudonym for anonymity purposes.)
Jeanelle is the proud mother of a daughter in college. She is a survivor of 19 years in a narcissistic, abusive marriage, and 2 ½ years post separation abuse through the divorce process.
Her heart breaks every day that she felt helpless, and couldn’t protect herself or her daughter, which fuels her passion as an activist and advocate to bring awareness, education, and understanding of the many types of abuse, and for changes of domestic violence laws in the United States, to add coercive control language and protect all children from being placed into custody with abusive parents, such as Greyson’s Law in Florida and Jennifer’s Law in Connecticut.
She was a Sub-committee member of the Orange County Florida Domestic Violence Commission on Public Awareness.
She is currently a board member of Rise From The Ashes, a small, grass-roots non-profit to raise awareness and be a part of the changes to laws in the U.S.
Jeanelle supports many survivor social media and activist groups, including narcissistic_abuse_is_real, Justice for Greyson, Justice for Ashley-Stop Domestic Violence, Florida Protective Parents Association, FACTs (Families Against Court Travesties), Justice for Gabby Petito, Connecticut Protective Moms, and others.
