TOPIC: Help and Support Florida "Dylan's Dog Chaining Law"  HB 177 & SB 650 - Tethering of Domestic Dogs and Cats ; Provides requirements for tethering domestic dogs & cats; provides penalties; provides for enforcement.

In 2012, a 17-month-old Jacksonville boy, Dylan Andres, was attacked & killed by his neighbor's chained dog. Following the attack, League of Humane Voters legislative Rep Renee Rivard with the Andres family's help passed a dog chaining law for Duval County.

There are 19 Florida counties that have attended tethering ordinances. These ordinances protect almost 65% of Florida's residents & their pets!

This info shows that the ordinance is easy to enforce and saves tax payers money, because there are less dog chaining & nuisance calls, & law enforcement says the ordinances help them with dog fighting rings.
