Judy Ikels, with a storied career in civil service, lived most of her life without knowing anything about her birth father. After receiving an email from a stranger working on a WW2 memorial for soldiers in China she grew closer to her father than ever.

Her book, Death in Wartime China: A Daughter's Discovery, tells the story of her father's legacy and how she was able to piece together who her father was.

She would learn that her father, William H. Wallace Jr., sacrificed his life saving his entire crew during WW2. She would further hear his story by finding information in different publications.
