The question should really be how much do you value your knowledge, education, and experience? I have heard some people tell me they just want to charge a nominal fee to potential clients, but when you are doing this you are basically telling your potential client that you want she and you really don't know what it is you're talking about that you just want to earn money doing it. That is why when you start your business you first have to decide how much do you consider your knowledge work to someone else and what you want to make at the end of the year. You also have to consider that once someone buys from you first, you want to keep them as a client long-term and you also want them to read for are the clients to you. The first thing I would suggest is that you learn about sales and scripting a sales presentation, because then you learn what each individual's hot buttons are and what their needs are and even what they are willing to pay for your knowledge and experience. It may very well be having a starter package, an intermediate package, and an advanced package with each level having more value than the next level. People who should listen to this show are entrepreneurs, home based businesses, executive search consultants, coaches, etc.
