  • Part 2: Close Up Radio to Welcome Back Animal Lover Jennifer Tipton of SleekEZ

    in Pets

BILLINGS, MT -- Jennifer Tipton is a model of tenacity both for her work as an entrepreneur and previous career as an equine (horse) dentist. For years she bonded with animals, observing their behaviors, and understanding some of their natural grooming tendencies. She noted what felt good and comfortable and also what tugged, itched, or prickled during grooming times. It led her to develop an innovative grooming tool that can make any type of curly, shaggy, wiry, or horribly long coat neater and sleeker. Because it performs so quickly and simply, she worked the  word easy into its name – SleekEZ.
In 2018, Jennifer’s SleekEZ (www.sleekEZ.com), became one of the top selling products on Amazon. But the journey of this specially bladed and toothed comb was long and hard, including personal battles with early stakeholders, resistance from patent attorneys, and rip offs by certain marketers and distributors. Jennifer launched the fledgling company with her own money and has since become an expert at living simply (instead of with extensive debt.) She even bought her last home for all cash.
Jennifer is a true animal lover and has always lived with a 4-legged family. For many years she was situated in Billings Montana. Most recently she has been living “off the grid” in a 40’ trailer with acres of land around her. She has 6 horses and 6 dogs with her, one of them just turned 14. Jennifer says the dogs are her eyes and ears in a remote area akin to the Wild West of US past. The animals also enjoy their property in the Northeast corner of Nevada which includes a creek that runs into a mysterious underground river. And that is just the tip of the phenomena around her.

    When Life Hits Hard

    in Dads and Family

On today's show, we discuss When Life Hits Hard with Monica Williams. Life isn’t easy, and it can be a very harsh, mean and unfair place. The road to your dreams is quite bumpy and there are many things that will stand in your way. People will tell you that you can’t do it; some will tell you that you shouldn’t do it; and others will even make sure that you won’t do it. Many will laugh at you and will try to bring you down. No matter how tough you try to be, life will find a way to push you down, put you in situations you can’t handle, send you holes to fall in. Unexpected distractions or barriers will come your way and try to deviate your mind from your goals. Luck may not always be on your side, and at times, you may feel that the whole world is against you.

About Family

Like the TV show, modern families come in all shapes and sizes. Many children are a product of divorce, are in touch with both their biological and adopted parents, have two moms or two dads (or both), or are being raised by their grandparents. No matter how atypical the face of today's family, the values stay the same: love and support. Moms and dads will find plenty of support in BlogTalkRadio's parenting shows, especially those about time-management topics that fit both stay-at-home and working parents: organizing kids' activity schedules, decluttering, reducing the workweek, managing stress, making quick meals and more. We've also got shows about friendship – you know, your family of choice rather than family of origin. Just remember: everyone's family seems dysfunctional in its own way. And family may irritate you, but more often than not, you can always count on family to pick you up from the airport.
