So much effort at achieving the good life can't be a coincidence. It's different for men who's soul has been damaged. It's different for men smart enough to learn from the experience of others. They will be found in libraries, bent over a page covered with their jottings. In search of ideas to confirm and if they have the capacity, to challenge and be challenged.  It takes a great deal of searching to find a part of masonry that does not expand into something remarkable when given the slightest contemplation. Supposing there is a hint that there is one right answer to each question, it would not pass the first test of inquisitive ppl. They always begin asking why.  What we take from those conversations, like what we take from our studies, widens when we are in discussion. Long ago, we designed an order that enjoyed a cup of coffee, a dram, honest, unbounded conversation, and got the idea it could be duplicated in a fashion in other counties and towns, even in other countries.   It would be insulting to their intelligence to spell out how and what they were to do. They gave us hints- spirituality but not religion (because there is a difference between theology and organized religion just as there is between masonic thought and masonic organization.  We are born to learn, to be receptive to our surroundings. How far we take it is complex.  Opportunity, circumstance, literacy, personality- they aren't causal but they do factor in. Fortunately genius by proxy has taken over the world. Knowledge comes to us, in the palm of a hand. Translation is not so much a barrier. Accountability is on the rise and literacy is being made available to everyone.  We are gradually sorting ourselves according to that ubiquitous bell curve.  Within the Craft?  Oh its happening all the time. As bleakness seems to swallow us one day, the rising sun brings renewal. So is it still worthy of worship? Ask the darkness
