Serious as life is, there is room to celebrate a fading dominance of that little voice questioning whether we are right or wrong. It is like picking up a recipe and using it until you reach the point where you embellish it with our own touches. Suit yourself in the way you celebrate the yearning to find the best in those around us by learning the secret.  It really is important. If I told you we are taught to look for flaws and errors would you ask if there was another lesson?  Yes there is. Beginning with what we don't want, doesn't explain what we do want. I don't want creme in my tea. So what do I want?  The lesson is as simple as that. Look for the best in a person and you are guaranteed to find it.  Don't believe?  Of course not. You need to learn to balance this like you did when riding a bicycle without training wheels or a parents firm guiding grip.  Looking for it in others, finding it and then considering what those discoveries are doing to your world belief, that is a journey into truth. Is it terrible if you discover something intrinsically beautiful about life? Have you and I realized the universe doesn't cloud our vision we bias? We do that happily, and to our own chagrin. Why is it that knowing this about ourself is self-correcting?  It's hard to ignore better ideas when given choices.  When we conqueor our own conceits, a mason finds a level of mastery he didn't have.  He influences with a glance, a presence, a state of mind. To reinforce our thinking, we turn to the many pneumonics found in ritual and the volumes of material packed into a each symbol.  Making excuses is unnessary. Though it is private, we witness men approaching and then avoiding the truth.  Truth is daunting but essential when the illusion of life isn't working anymore. Making more of our life is a very good reason to think as a mason. Knowing we can improve the lives of all, is humbling.
