There is so much harmony in the world. It doesn't profit weapons manufacturers. It doesn't force accountability on politicians and it doesn't save soldiers carry out their sworn duty. Cynics hate to be reminded we are alike. Social media in the hands of Joe Blow was bound to cause them to sit up and pay attention.  Who controls the media?  Not the establishment.  I know some of you will have been children of the 60's. Defiant, dilettant, refusing to accept an agenda of conflict. But then we grew older. We cut our hair, put on a suit and became the establishment. And now that history is judging us for damaging the planet we have a collective debt to pay. Hoping and praying has never been enough. It's the salve we use in a shell hole, when the world is on fire. We walked away from our churches because we could not accept rigidity. We lost faith when the influencers were found out. We never lost the need to trust, but we became very cautious.  There was safety in money as the new god. It never claimed to be moral or improve equality and justice.  Nicolo Machivelli was standard reading and he taught the prince how to bend ethics to satisfy his purpose.  And when men of conviction react with utter indifference, best to mock and belittle them.  Reasoning and ethics has always been toxic to  demigods.   I know we encourage harmony but there is some satisfaction tearing down the odd despot and righting wrongs. It is worth keeping in mind, each generation needs to do their calculations just as we did. Each generation needs to make mistakes and find ways to correct them. Slowly, we are gettting closer to one global community, recognizing in the infinite universe, there are only seven billion of our species and the dinosaurs were on earth much longer than us.  Look for common cause and the greater good. It's there. Find the joy and share it.
